Veterinary Assistant
Amaya's deep love for animals and her strong aspiration to work as a veterinarian are evident in her educational pursuits at Pima Medical Institute, where she obtained her veterinary assistant certification in 2021. With a little over 2 years of experience in the veterinary field, she has dedicated herself to various roles, including work, volunteering, and internships at shelters, hospitals, and pet stores.
Growing up in the vibrant city of San Diego, Amaya was surrounded by diverse wildlife, fostering her passion for animals. Despite her initial aversion to creatures, her perspective evolved as she discovered the unique qualities and personalities each animal possesses.
In her fulfilling journey in the veterinary field, Amaya finds joy in forming strong connections with her animal patients and their owners, leaving a positive impact on both. Continuing her education at Mesa Community College in preparation for veterinary school reflects her commitment to expanding her skills and knowledge in animal care.
